Guns and Mental Health by Walk the Talk America
The Walk the Talk America Podcast is where firearm culture and mental health meet with curiosity, not confrontation.
Each episode brings together voices from the firearm community, mental health professionals, researchers, and everyday gun owners to have honest conversations about suicide prevention, culture, and practical solutions.
We focus on education over outrage, nuance over noise, and collaboration over division, because reducing negative outcomes requires diverse perspectives.
And because this work is personal, every episode closes with a simple but powerful question: How do you stay mentally healthy?

Randy “Miyanovich” Miyan is the full-time Executive Director and co-founder of Liberal Guns Owners: a 501(c)4 organization which supports firearms ownership rights, the mitigation of firearms-related violence, and firearms ownership participation for the left-leaning.
Randy is a former remodeling and renovation business-operator who worked within the parameters of Green and Eco-sensitive building projects for 17 years. He has a substantial connection to the world of mental and physical health improvement through his 25 year dedication to Buddhist meditation, Buddhist psychology, and Chinese forms of mind-body exercise like Tai Chi and Qigong. For over five years, Randy taught Tai Chi and meditation to both the senior citizen and HIV /AIDS community.
Randy’s gun perspective is unique in that he was involved in firearms as a kid but walked away from them for over two decades. He returned to guns from the world of dedicated non-violence due to an increased need for self-defense in relation to his family.
